Arvo, it was England v Trinidad & Tobago, atmosphere absolutley electric in London. Pubs were pack top capacity, streets lined 5 deep outside the pubs as people who couldn't get in, tried to get a glimpse of the action. Thanks to my sister's work I had a pass to get into one of the pubs. London, well England was frozen in time for 90mins, the city had come to stand still! Close game, frustrating at times. Thankfuly England won - means everyone was in good spirits the next day.

Arvo, more World Cup football & more drinking!
Saturday 17/06/06
am - Was going to do 5k time trial in Bushy Park, but I slept in (Buster ran it last weekend & set new course record 14mins). So it was a tempo run Hyde Park/ Kensignton Gardens 18k - 1hr09mins.
Condtions very warm & sunny 29degs. Run felt great, wired to sound & floated around!
Arvo was spent catching up with friends in Northampton (approx 1hr by train, Nth of London) - chillen out at a village pub in Blisworth on the canal, enjoying the sunshine. A fabulous day.
Sunday 18/06/06
am - long run Richmond Park - 25k 1hr40mins.
Conditions warm in the high 20s. A good group of 6. Pace was quick, felt good up untill about 1hr 25mins, then got dropped when Phil Sly & Johnny Mac picked the pace up. The wheels just fell off, the legs felt like lead. Good to hitout 1hr40mins though, longest run since the marathon (back on April 9th).
Weekly total = 88k
Arvo was spent knocking back a few pints & cheering on the Aussies as they put up an awesome fight against Brazil in the World Cup. Charing Crossed Road was lined with Brazilian's flying their flags, playing drums, dancing & singing in the street - awesome sight to see! such fantastic atmosphere.
